David Miletto: Italian Heritage, Family Stories, Chicago, Life, & Art - 269

David Miletto is an artist. He has an amazing talent for bringing ideas to life. This is episode 269 of Teaching Learning Leading K12 and the first part of a multi-part interview with David as we talk about Italian heritage, family stories, Chicago, life in the 50's-60's-70's, and art. 

He also is one of my favorite uncles.

He has an incredible sense of humor. He is an amazing cook who makes his own pasta and I swear I can sense when he is cooking...awesome aromas!

And I always remember him having an interesting comment or two that would make me think…“Like in the 80s when he asked me which of my music groups I think will still be relevant in 20 years.”

Or him practicing his spoken Italian and talking about the family history...You have never lived until you have experienced him driving through the toll booths of Chicago!He also is an avid baseball and Whitesox fan…

This interview is focused on David as a primary source of information. He lived through some amazing aspects of our country. This will be a multipart show.

In the first episode, we will share some family history and then talk about being a child in the 50s and early 60s.

As a classroom teacher, my hope is that you will be able to use some of his thoughts and comments about life in the past as a way of getting your students to hear the thoughts of someone who was there...Chicagoland area in the 50s and 60s…(by the way the journey will also take us to Texas, Florida, maybe Las Vegas, and Italy...even Wisconsin)...part two and three will bring us through the turbulent teenage years and the late 60s, and then into some events in later years of his life.

Remember David is an artist and at the end of each episode, we will journey into some of his work and a special request for assistance with a project that he is trying to take to the next level and complete.
